How do you have a speed limit of 36 mph in the UK?
I think an Awareness Course will be the option. Done that twice for similar 'over the speed limit' margins.

Better than points, cost is about the same, course or fine.

It's Devon & Cornwall Police "10 + 2" policy (plus a bit) – ie 10 per cent (3mph) plus 2mph, so up to 35/36mph is acceptable. Apparently 36.8mph isn't! This was on the way to the ferry terminal on Thursday night, so they don't hang around.
As I haven't done a speed awareness course for five or six years, then hopefully I should get away with one of those. Will still hurt if I get a £100 fine for 0.8mph over the limit, though...

I've filled in the online form to confirm it was me driving, now just have to sit back and wait...

Having done the speed awareness course last year (also for apparently doing 36mph in a 30mph limit in my Elite) - which cost £80 plus the fuel to get there & back (nearest venue offered was Worcester) - & been bored rigid for several hours, I think if there's a next time, I'd rather take the points (which for a speeding offence doesn't affect insurance or anything else as far as I'm aware) ...

last one I did was online zoom meeting and to be fair to the guy running it , was quite entertaining as it was his intention to keep things light hearted and allow people to learn without being spoken down to

Much more importantly KS, did you manage to go fast enough when you really needed to at St. Goueno?

I've also had to endure one of those courses.... Guy made it clear that the boring day was part of the punishment. He also said quite correctly that 25% of all accidents are caused by excess speed. So naturally I asked "what are the police doing about the vast majority of causes, the 75%?" Didn't sit well with his agenda let's just say.
