Ready just in time for post- lockdown spring runs!

Another 'plus' for the Dunlop Blue Response tyres - I have 195/65s on my 914 and they're excellent. They're even listed in the RAC Blue Book as an approved tyre for Production classes.

Lockdown will soon be passing, plan the suspension (I did all mine by string and an ebay caster/camber gauge) and you are ready for the first day out.

Thanks guys for your kind comments, Ive made a lot of progress in the last 6 months, I still need to check the rear ride height (it looks pretty good from the off) which is why the sill trims arent fitted yet. And still nothing on the inside of the doors yet as Im trying to gather the parts.

Things keep zooming along, im super busy at the moment, buying and selling, as you may have noticed, no sooner is it sold then its spent, wiper kits, sunvisors, gauges, and thats just the porsche stuff. Needs must though because theres no way this project will keep on moving without it. Part of what im doing is trading up, if I can get better parts than what I have Ill buy them and sell my existing parts. My big fire-sale has allowed me to buy some treats that will be revealed over the coming days/weeks.

first up I got a full set of new rotors front and back.


next up is these mint eurometrix rebuilt 69S throttle bodies. My 3rd set of TBs in as many months. You may remember I traded my 70/71 TBs and stacks for 69s. The 69s were date correct but had some play, not terrible but probably worth rebuilding in the next two or three years. Then I saw these come up for sale at an irresistible price, I just had to get them...





It says Eurometrix here honest!


Next up I followed IanM's advice and got me a injector cleaner rig, thanks Ian!

1) Take injectors and place vertically into small jar, nozzle side up, fill to brim with neat injector cleaner


2) Screw on cap and place in ultrasonic bath at 60C for 4hrs


3) Remove jar of filthy liquid from ultrasonic bath


4) Set up injectors on test rig


5) Blow through with more injector cleaner until spray pattern is decent



6) admire your lovely clean injectors


Im really hoping that with mint TBs, lovely clean injectors and a MFI pump that has been gone through, that my engine will run like a dream soon enough.

correlate engine
change oil
