I think I tried but you were in conversation... did you have a passenger? And I was wanting to get back to the track to see the 356 in front of you go round. Also... tsk tsk, no ddk sticker
Also, what was that car in front of you with "Speedwell" on the side? That was a hoot, lots of cheers as it drifted round Fradley.

Ah, sorry my DDK sticker has decayed to a brown splodge. My passengers were a mates wife my wife, my son and the paddock marshall. All of us were sufprised with yhe 356 grip....thats the first time ive driven it on track . The Speedwell Sprite, is a pukka example of a Speedwell Sprite....a competition modified Frogeye. That belongs to a great guy called David Wylie, whose Father had that car before him, and rallied a lot in NI. A rare historic wee beastie always driven with great vigour! If you were there last year, he was driving his ex works race/rally BMW 2002, in a similar style. W

I navigated Mike Wylie for several years in the Speedwell, incl the ‘91 Pirelli Marathon. The car was originally owned by his brother-in-law, Adrian Boyd who the Circuit of Ireland in 1960 in a Sprite at the age of 19. The car was crashed on the way back from Kirkistown, I was told, by Adrian’s brother, Derek, which is why it has a Sebring nose on it.
The Sprite was always driven with great aplomb by Mike and we had many adventures in it.

On reflection we may have spoken briefly. Did you tell some guy you hadn't been on the rolling road for a while but got 75 at the wheels, from 90hp factory?
