I'm fairly sure that is one of the original 916's - &, from memory, it was the only one imported into the USA from new ...

Hi, yes the real deal. It was imported into the US by Peter Gregg. There were another 2 or possible 3 imported but this was the first one and fitted with VW air conditioning which meant leaving out the space save spare to fit the condensing unit. The only change George has made is 7" Fuchs and not the factory fitted 6"

It's curious that everything would be original apart from the wheels.

no - the complete interior was changed to a more modern style "Porsche Script" interior
