Big day, well done Stephen.
I know you've added some personal styling touches to the shell, and light ivory is a perfect colour choice for the SS GT Special...

Before I make any big styling descisions as beautiful as the specimen above, I'm lucky enough to be able to carry them out on my test mule in the garage at the moment.

Paint it with tipex just to be certain on your colour choice

A surprise update...
I got a call from the bodyshop on Saturday afternoon asking if I'd pop down and help setup the rotisserie. So this morning I headed over there and to my surprise all but the underside had already been blasted.
Still a few nooks and crannies to get into but it's looking great and I'm pleased to report there were no hidden surprises! Even at this stage with the car appearing to be just a single colour is looked a lot more complete than it ever has.
Deep breath time as we carefully roll it over for the first time.
The rest will be completed over the coming few days.

Looks like you're in safe hands there Stephen. I guess it has all turned out right in the end with painters.
Looking forward to seeing more pictures of progress.

I think it is Chief - So far I'm very pleased with the guy I've chosen to paint the car. Fingers crossed it turns out as well as I hope. Thanks again with the help with the rotisserie.

I got up bright and early today and drove out to the depths of the Essex countryside to visit the car.
It's now been fully blasted and fortunately only a couple of tiny issues found that are really easy fixes. So that's a great relief. It's now also been been epoxy primed and looks pretty fantastic.
After seeing so many restorations at this stage over the years for some reason I find it hard to believe that this is actually my car! However I'm sure it'll become real when I have to pay the bill
Opening the door to the spray booth before the lights were turned on.

Great shell, all looks so very good.
Soon in colour and all winter to build it up for a very nice 2019 by the looks of it.
Hope my shell will look that good in 6 weeks time!
Did your seal sealer come in a tin for brush application or a rattle can?

Thanks, I've now idea about the seam sealer sorry. What's on there at the moment is the original sealer but there's more to apply. The majority will be sprayed on as per the factory process.

I am not surprised the passenger is trying to avoid his face being in the photo.
The remote control on the front wing is a nice touch though. When you crash it through the house wall, you can operate the TV from the car whilst you wait for the ambulance.....

I think the remote control is actually the number plate on a block thats fallen off and just been put on the wing?
