Are you sharing or is it another secret project?

Dan, not much I can add to the adulation above. It's a stunner alright!

I was investigating ways to play music ...the refurbed but period looking stereo has an "aux in" but I cant really think of a good way to rigidly mount an iphone that doesnt look nasty. ..hence suspect i will just use a good old fashioned suction screen mount when I want satnav or for longer journeys

just discovered you can get a bluetooth module that connects to a classic 3.5mm RCA input. once thats in you can bluetooth the music across...happy days! £12 from amazon

Not long now... Just had the latest photos through from Tuthills. I am going tomorrow to have a look but won't be driving it back sadly as it still needs to be set up properly- geo etc and I want Richard to stick 50 road miles or so on it as a shakedown.

The wheels are 6 and 8 inch Fuchs that I bizarrely bought from a guy in Canada via the early911 site - from memory he had to make a 5 hr round trip to his nearest DHL! I love that the early Porsche scene cuts across all such boundaries... Nationalities / jobs / budgets / age .. We are all linked through that one passion. I really wanted to do them
In RSR finish because I love the look but experience taught me the frosted finish is very hard to look after unless you like spending hours with rags and brake cleaner. So - RS spec finish

Avon CR6 as subject of the tyre thread elsewhere on DDK. I was worried after looking at the fat TB 15s these would look a bit anaemic but I think they look great

You can see the wheel arch liners fitted - I really do think this is a no brainer upgrade for any car

Left to do

Decals
Windscreen
Final electric connections
Seats to go in
Register on RSR 1H

Followed by what I hope will be a long term love affair!

Looking great Dan and nearly there, you must be pretty excited about this by now.

What you doing about side decals, I think you mentioned something about light grey perhaps?
Are you going to black anodise the arch liners, if not there's a great Tectyl wax that would do it.

thanks Mike

the side decals will be in light grey and Red. PORSCHE. exactly like the Singer dark grey car. The red is Bahia I think

not sure if I will use one on the engine lid, leave it plain, or fit metal letters... entirely a visual thing !

finishing touch is a red enamel Cresta Run Shuttlecock corner badge for the grille

it pains me to say it but I planned to coat the wheel arch liners in a layer of roadgrime !

Bit of an update - not long to go now! MOT planned for Tuesday next week. A few fiddly details left to do. Further to my dashboard post I don't think the existing one is that bad but it's warped, not insurmountable though

New fuel tank in

Image

Dials in. Wheel fitted to a QR boss which is just something I like for a bit of extra security. Also it's quite funny to walk in the pub carrying your wheel :-)

Not secured in place yet but looks good to me

Just need an Mot cert and then the new plates can go on

Image

Took the kids along for a look...took an hour before they got bored which was ample for what should be my final visit

MOT day. Followed by setup and shakedown tomorrow. Still a few finishing touches needed but if it's driveable and road legal D day can't be far away which is exciting!

Looks so cool.

Will it still be at Tuthills on Saturday for DDk visitors to see?

By the way - if you were running a standard horn push you'd need this one.
