Quick update with the latest pics. Engine is still running sweet, all the little oil leaks now fixed other than the crank seal. I've rebuilt the gearshift coupler again (after 14 years!) and added some small shims to eliminate any slack. This sorted the 4000rpm rattle from the stick and the shift is now perfect.

I've replaced the cracked wheels so I can finally drive again without that little nagging doubt that it was about to exit stage left at any moment...

I added the SC door seals around the frames and it's reduced the noise from the front of the car so much that the diff whine and whistle from the rear windows is more obvious... I might take them off again and balance it out or it's going to cost me more money!

Summer turned into a non event Porsche wise waiting for my hip to recover (still waiting for a ligament to magically fix itself!)... so back in November I spent the day up in the mountains to get some miles in







Wasn't expecting it to look quite this scenic so now regret not taking my proper camera!

So to today and another sunny weekend, another drive to Wales, where it was grey and raining!

Your pair are too damn shiny! And unfortunately I have one on each side so nothing matches, will be fine for the summer then off to Mr Moss to dull them down a touch.

One of the joys of owning a car for many many years is you get to replace stuff twice...

The car has been feeling a little under damped in recent months, although as with the low speed driveability it maybe just my daily spoiling me.

However after £700 and a few hours work this morning a new set of Bilstein dampers confirmed what my backside was telling me. It's back where it should be, the steering response is now symmetrical and heavy compressions are managed with style and no overshoot.

I guess I can't moan after 15 years hard service!

Rears are dead easy, just one bolt and a nut in the engine bay: Anorak note is that these are post '72 dampers to match the ali arms as they have an M14 bush rather than the M12 of the steel arms. I'd changed the bushes in the old dampers when I fitted the ali arms.



Luckily you can get the front inserts out without taking the strut off, making it a 30 minute job rather than hours:



Back out for a run tomorrow all going to plan!
