we have a last minute entry from Co Durham

does anyone know how to use the routes sent out - the .gpx files?

I have loaded them onto mem car and put them into the garmin nuvi 1340, but can't find any way of selecting them from the user interface!

well found them and someone cleverer than me has worked out how to use them!

Not on its own. But if you mix wife-nav and sat-nav, it's a bit like I imagine it'd be if you wife met your mistress!!!

Only got as far as M1 when my car ('57-plate Passat Estate) emptied the contents of its sump over the tarmac ...
car was only serviced last week (first time in over 20 years I've paid someone to work on one of my cars).

Just been 'recovered' back home - having a coffee then will investigate.

Obviously won't make the original Ferry but hopefully will still make the weekend ( maybe not till tomorrow though).

Found the problem last night - the plastic top for the oil filter housing had come almost completely unscrewed (not been done up properly ?) & allowed the oil to leak out.

Cleaned up the oil mess, replaced top correctly & refilled with oil - headed off this morning at 5.00am & stopped after ~ 30 miles to check oil level ... only to find the plastic top loose again !

Back home again & discovered via the internet that this is a known problem with some Passats of this era - only solved by new replacement filter housing & cap ...

So it looks like I'm not going to join the group now.
