911 driven by Terry Hunter / R Ridgard and Entered by Bio Strath (DNF) - parked next to it is the winning Mk1 Escort (#18)

Terry Hunter also appears to have race a 911L, once in the 1967 British TCC and once in the 1968 European TCC

John
Interesting to note that both 911 crewmen produced seats: Terry Hunter sold Huntmaster seats while Robert (Bob) Ridgard sold Ridgard seats...

Finally got my 356C back from Autoshop completely repainted amd looking perfect. Used some compressed air to send fuel to the fuel pump and she started immediately so I went home on detour to see if enjoyed driving it as much as I thought I did. Definitely, it’s a wonderful little car.

Did you really type £800,000 bill?

Why is it a special car and how can the bill come to that level?

This Porsche 911 S (M491) 2.5 S/T (or SR to give it its proper name), had a pretty prolific competition history during 1972 and was driven by Michael Keyser and Jurgen Barth, including a class win at Le Mans. It was discovered in the a very sorry state in 2014 in the US and was basically restored with no-expense spared to virtually a brand-new car by Porsche Classic, including cathode-dip treatment for the shell.

It featured in, and was the camera car for, Keyser's excellent movie 'The Speed Merchants', as well as being the subject of Keyser's book '2.5 S/T - Camera Car':

Following the restoration between 2014 and 2016, Porsche featured it in a number of articles documenting the whole process:

https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/history ... 12414.html

https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/christo ... 14285.html

Only 21 of these were cars ever made, including GeLo Racing Team #44, the only other SR which raced at Le Mans in '72...
