Topped up the oil and checked the tyre pressures on the 964, off to spend the afternoon wearing out the tyres and brake pads at Mondello Park.

Put nice new (re-plated) shiny Nikasil cylinders onto my 3.2 and am finally completing the top end rebuild. Should be in and running next week if my electroplater returns from his holiday and allows me to retrieve fuel rails and other essential items. Then tractor is next.............

Spent the day looking up part numbers and drawing up list of bits to buy in SoCal next week... And wondering if I'll ever get the damned thing finished.

I drove down the M4 to cheer up everyone in their family waggons. And tomorrow I will wake up the Cotswolds with a 7am blast. In stereo, with Darren. Should be quite a sight.

Even the Ocado man asked if I had heard of Singer.

Drove it a bit, was reminded of what a fantastic car it is. Visited GCR in Leicester for the first time as they may become my local. Seem like a good bunch. Realised my new seats are too Hugh and May gave to go........

Just got back from a local 'Halfords to Country Park/coffee back home' morning run.

Is it me now or is it impossible to enjoy a run nowadays, and in the 911 it was such hard work!

Seriously thinking of a Boxster with a hardtop. :?

What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Post by hot66 »

Last night finally replaced the front discs and pads . Spent this morning removing and cleaning the the spark plugs as I wasn't happy with the way the motor has been running recently .... Took out for a swift run around my test loop to bed the brakes in .... Fingers crossed, success at last , the brake juddering has gone.

Cleaning the plugs ( that looked fine but did have deposits on, ) has made a massive difference , the missing at idle seems to have gone and my afr's now appear more even on both banks + the engine sounds smoother . Happy again with the car and it's not for sale until the next thing pisses me off when I'll start the £200k 2.4s thread

Went out to make some noise. Sounded great.

But looks like the clutch is about to throw its hand in

Kind regards.

John:
That sounds nice!
What headers/silencer do you have please?

I need to lift my MoJo on my 911 or it will be for sale and replaced with a hardtopedboxster thing.

Making it less 'hillclimb' and more 'touring' will help me and the wife enjoy it.

Sounds good John....isn't it annoying when those crappy modern cars get in the damn way and they just don't go fast enough... ..hope you blasted them into the weeds once the camera stopped running...

Friday took for MOT, passed, so took for a bit of a run.
Noticed my front tyres have worn very badly on the inner edges, very annoying as my car was meant to have had a full suspension geometry set up done when it was repaired. The insurance company was certainly charged for one.
So thats 2 new tyres to buy, I think I will start a new tyre thread.
Sunday off down south for family meal, so a couple of tanks of fuel to burn.
