Whilst the Speedster is at the garage I thought I would start getting the paper work ready for IVA starting with the spec so far:

Donor vehicles
Porsche 944 (1990) VIN/ chassis number WP0ZZZ94ZKNxxxxxx – Supplied key components; front and rear suspension, both stub axles, both drive shafts and CV joints, steering rack and corresponding steering column, all four disc brakes including handbrake drums, cable and lever.
Porsche 911 2.7 Targa (1976). Chassis Serial 9116xxxxxx – engine number 636xxxx, transmission number 915/62 730 09 15, - Supplied key components; donated Instrument clocks (speedo, tachometer, oil, fuel) modified with green and black dials chrome bezel and set to Zero miles, oil tank and cooler, clutch. 915 gearbox, with standard electronic speedometer. Final drive ratio 8:31 (3.875)
VW Beetle (1969) VIN/ chassis number 119xxxxxx provided the floor pan and back bone chassis with suspension brackets
Chassis
The backbone of a VW beetle fabricated using steel tubes (2.5 mm thick) running front to back with brackets for front suspension and rear engine mounts. Steel rectangular tube (3 mm) used underneath floor pan to increase strength which runs from front to back and interconnects with internal roll bars. New floor pan floors and sill sections. All brackets and mountings welded in situation as per original datum’s. Triangulated semi- space frame chassis designed and manufactured to provide frame rigidity/ stiffness passenger safety and front crumple zone. Everything TIG welded for maximum weld penetration and strength tested.
Body
Brand new Speedster Clinic ltd body, Front bonnet, Rear single grill engine lid, Doors, Pre-fitted front luggage area, Headlight bowls and battery tray, Rear luggage compartment bonded in, Flow coated under side of body, 3 piece engine bay kit, Stainless steel hinge kit and fittings.
Engine
Pair 40 Tin Zenith carbs and manifolds circa 1972 refurbished by Crayford Classics. 2.7 set up for CIS cams. Venturi = 32, Main jet = 135, Air jet = 180, Idle jet = 55.
Suspension
Porsche 944 Turbo
Suspension (front and back) Axles (both), Steering assembly, Whole rear axles with new standard cv joints fitted. Rear aluminium trailing A arms with new wheel bearings. Rear anti roll bar with new bushes . Rear springing is provided by new coil over adjustable shock absorber units and uniball
Whole front suspension, including standard stub axles, steel cross-member welded to chassis, standard lower control arms and anti-roll/ drop links with new bushes. Standard top mounts. Front springing is provided by new standard design coil over adjustable shock absorber units. Standard steering rack connected to the standard steering column via shaft with double joint CV joints for safety on impact.
Brakes
Porsche 944 donated front and rear 4 pot Brembo brake calipers refurbished /painted with new piston and seals, new discs, brackets . Standard handbrake cable short Porsche 944 type with adjusting plate fitted to top of tunnel and connected via original umbrella couplings to handbrake
Pots 40, 36, 30 and 28 mm.
Wheels/ Tyres
Front Toyo T1-R 205 55 16 91W Overall diameter: 633mm and rear Toyo T1-R 225 50 16 92W Overall diameter: 632mm. Difference between front/ back diameter.
Original 1976 tyre size 185/70 15 = 640mm 1.1% difference hence no impact on speedo.
