In 2015 I had to clear my parents house after dad passed away and there was a lot of ‘stuff’ in the attic which, at the time, I threw into my trailer along with all the other chattels. Slowly going through it I eventually came across yet another box (I realise it’s taken a while) today, tied up with some old rope. Thought it might be more old photos or paperwork but when I opened it I got a nice surprise.

Dad must have packed things away carefully long after I left home and put the box up the loft. I have not played with these for more than 50 years. They are well played with obviously. The funny thing is I immediately remembered each one and even the missing door on the back of the Bedford Lorry trailer before I picked it up. I include it on this thread because there is a Porsche in there. There’s are three layers in the box. Made my day.

Hi Jason

Yes, the best moments are the ones you just don’t see coming.
Good job dad was a hoarder. These could easily have been binned years ago otherwise.

Hope you are well.

Regards
Mike

My Hornby ( not a euphemism) 3 rail with The Mallard went the same way.

New ‘EV’ based car from the Watt Electric Vehicle Company in Cornwall based around ‘off the shelf’ chassis suitable for numerous car bodies..

Article from ‘Car Throttle’ website says their ‘coupe’ design ‘has some strong Porsche 356 vibes’.

You could say that.

Doesnt look too bad , kind of like the rally vibe.. this is kind of like the radio controlled cars of old with a generic chassis with body swap options ?

If anyone watches Moggy’s Vintage Voltage, a car of that size typically achieves a range of 120 miles, so 240 looks pretty optimistic

I like it though, I mean, who wouldn’t, it looks 99% 356 and 1% vibe

If it truly achieves 240 miles and isn't £100k like a lot of the recent reimagines, it could have some merit.

I have watched some of Vintage Volts and I am always surprised by the low range. Is it the battery packs he is using? To me a classic weekend driver with only 100ish miles range is pointless. Its about doable for a commuter car, but for something you want to go to the coast, or a country pub its a huge limitation.

Ref Volts program..
Moggie does a sensible job in that he at least tries to give some luggage space as a classic is more than a Down-the-Pub car isn't it?

The small battery packs to give some practicality thus limits the range and the performance, but imho an electric classic should be +20% on stock 'bhp' and a good range, ie a real 200 miles.

Noticed how many customers are from Ireland?
Maybe that range is ok over there?

Range and charge speed is what blocks all EVs.
Be very different in a few year's time.

sounds interesting , bit like a remote controlled car chassis that can be modded to suit any body style . Makes a lot more sense than modding an existing classic... now wheres my old vacuum former and sheets of plastic

Motor tax in RoI is a big factor, often many times more than UK, there is a big reduction on EVs and they are selling well down there
