Interesting. Central banks and economists fear of economic meltdown and deflation has driven successive rounds of interest rate cuts and quantitative easing from the credit crunch onwards, which seem to have done more for asset prices (and wealth inequality) than GDP growth or productivity.

Given HMRC's inability to enforce tax collection outside of the vanilla I can't see anyone losing sleep over Treasury threats to prosecute anyone for misuse of bounce back loans.

The question for the economy (and therefore classic car prices) over the medium term is how quickly trade recovers from the easing of lockdown restrictions and whether enough liquidity gets to the right places (probably not supercars!) to offset the cash companies are burning though (TFL went through £1bn from start of lockdown and asked government for a loan middle of May, Jaguar Land Rover is burning though £1bn cash a month and an ONS survey suggested 44% of firms could run out of cash within 6 months, and that was over a month ago)

I agree. I reckon classics bought by comfortably off older people with cash will hold up. Super cars bought on finance will slide.
