It’s my first electric car. Very quiet etc but it’s not “driving” - more like semi active passengering
This reminds me of a project we were set at Coventry uni, to redesign the R4, back in 2003....

Impressive build quality but I wasn't a fan of the colour choice ...

That looks nice
It is a nice colour but I am conditioned to expect a Maserati to be some sort of red

Using it as the good lord intended... Yes, it is genuine.

New project just arrived.
To make sure i don't get bored soon, bought a new 2 wheel project, a 1981 Honda C70 Cub.

All original, not messed with, 3 owner from new and a massive 3489 miles from new.
Lovely thing, been on my Wish List for some time, but hard to find this level of Cub that could be an 'oily-rag' job, but that is far too easy.
Bonus today was finding the original tool bag in the side panel, nice.
Not run for about 20+ years, kept in a dark garage alongside a Triumph Trident.

Ebay to the rescue, found this one 15 miles from home and collected using the cavernous boot of the Skoda Superb last night.

Full project build on Members Others soon, but no rush.

8)

As you know , I've got the early version, a 50cc C100 and love it . You've done well with the tool kit .. i'm trying to put together one for my bike.

TBF, that doesnt look like it needs any resto aesthetics wise. Is it 6v ?

Had to remove that BIG box to get it into the Skoda! Great store box for the rusty bits already coming off.
James, the whole surface has a zillion rust scars, just paint lifting, but all over like a rash, so full job.
Thinking of coach painting it.

It could be a very easy oily rag job, but I need more than that to do.

It is 6 volt, and the old unsealed battery has recharged today to 6.1 volts. Could do with some de-ionised water if it is still sold.

Plan is to get it running first and not to start the rebuild until much later this year.
It really is a late year project.

Found this today…

My Dad’s first Merc - guessing this is early 80s given I look around 10 - pictured with my Cousin Juliet who has now retired to New Zealand

Loved that car. He was a 2nd hand car dealer (had a couple of plots in Norwich) at the time together with his Cafes. He used to often pick me up in a variety of cars but after he bought this he then drove old Mercs for many many years.

Would love to trace it but…

Can’t remember the original Reg and we put Dad’s private plate on it and it got a new one when we sold it

The one I’d love to find is his 280SE he had a few years later.

Petrol blue metallic and a custom interior - it apparently originally belonged to the MD of Lee Cooper jeans

It was a gorgeous car. I spent many a day driving it in 88 at the age of 17 with L plates on! Drove from Norwich to Luton airport in it before I passed my test to go on a family holiday

If I found that one and it was still salvageable I’d buy it immediately

I do crave one to smoke about in - great cars

In the early nineties my dad had a brown estate version that I would borrow to tow the jet ski......you couldn't tell there was anything behind........great vehicles.
