Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
In their day in the right hands the R8 Gordini could be a match for the Lotus Cortina. A handful to drive on the limit but I just love them (my dad was a Renault man…).

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
As Keith said, a well-driven one was a match for a Lotus Cortina - which, by the standard of of that time, was a quick (saloon) car.
Remember, the whole R8 Gordini drive train - engine, gearbox, back axle, suspension & brakes - was utilised in the early Alpine A110's ...

One of only 26 (?) 212 Inter's built by Vignale.
That's probably the best angle - it's not so good looking from the front (IMO) ...

The car posted by Graham is a 1953 model & the front looks like this:

I think the one on the front of the magazine is an earlier - & better looking - 1952 model
- I'm sure each one was slightly different ...

Breakfast meet up. Got a close look over this Seven at last. First one sold after the prototype/demo cars. Bare bodywork now (was painted pillar box red back in the day) and was used in a lot of adverts.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Funnily enough, we did pretty much the same thing last weekend in Sue's new Mini Countryman !
Drove down from Yorkshire on the Wednesday and spent a couple of nights at the Gunton Arms "Gastro pub" owned by art dealer Ivor Braka, and holds part of his eclectic collection and situated within a 1,000 acre deer park and then three nights at the Victoria Inn at Holkham. I've never spent any time in Norfolk before but absolutely loved it , had a few trips to Blakeney , Wells and Brancaster. Would certainly recommend it for a few days away.
