Many years ago we had Stuart Turner as the guest speaker at Hagley's Dinner Awards Presentation.
Unbelievably funny, but his wife never smiled at all!

How does a trans failure result in such a flame ball and get into the cabin space?
That must be a fuel line failure that was leaking sell before launch??

It's a AA/FX class car - the pre 'Funny Car' class, with huge engine set-back. Exploding transmission components cut through the fuel line and, hey presto, an inferno...

(Some arguments on wether this is actually pendine sands )
Marske-by-the Sea (just in front of Cliff House) for the Saltburn Speed Trials in 1923 the year before he went to Pendine Sands to set the world record in 1924. The trials were held between Saltburn and Marske.
