Bootsy,Thanks for the Serenity Prayer it has changed everything. IF I become subject to the new/old/ tightened rules and become a BIVA victim I will serenely and courageously shoot myself ( did Jason say about time?) after first shooting any VOSA officials, other associated jobsworths and the wisdom to distinguish been these and innocent passers by. Do I need a shotgun license? Will there be in the future a website for the 'BIVA survivors Group'? Will BIVA Survivors need psychological support and ask the Government for compensation and a public enquiry?

Yes, the critical thing is if fitting those wide arches is considered to be cutting into the chassis/monocoque/unibody. That we won't know until a test case comes along...

When Porsche built the first 930s they cut the arches out of narrow arch wings and the wider arches were welded on with a visible weld left on the underside.

Good enough for them........

Jon, this is the point I made earlier about the ST arches and also applied to the early RS arches. I have been told the RS arch is still listed on PET.

If you consider the positives in this situation....

Imagine, you can order a cracking bargain from Beverly Hills Car Club and have no problem getting it on the road without an MOT to worry about.

And buy up old wrecks with good reg numbers on them and put them on retention without MOTs

Fingers crossed that messrs Drayson, Moss, Flavell et al will be offering to rectify all their ST/RSR/backdate jobbies at cost - one hopes the professionals who profited from all those conversions and should have known (or would have known) about the 8 point rule will step up to the plate should judgement day come to pass! A fine suggestion JPH, but it's already been confirmed that they're all coming back to South Africa (where we're still permitted to have some fun, with sunshine to boot) as that's where most came from, and at equivalent irrelevant cost....YAY

Seriously one day classic enthusiasts will have to travel to backward countries that still permit petrol engines.....im hoping my backward, sunny, cheap wine and barbecue county will shine! I'll be developing a classic car resort with accomodation, track, storage, related services....what a dream

Found out today Steve Kevlin is recovering from a stroke.

Maybe hold fire on the RHD back to LHD conversion then? Doubt there are that many others at PCGB who could tell the difference? Maybe a good idea to keep schtum about the home made conversion all those years ago though, just enjoy retirement driving the Boxster in Europe instead?

I'm just going to wait.
Car taxed for 12 months, so no questions until next September.
If cheap, I will get lhd dash panels just in case.
Boxster is such a good car!
