I think SCs were all 3 spoke, is that right? I am reckoning this is a 924/944 wheel. Prolly not worth much either..

Re: For the love of Steering Wheels.....
Just about to sell the nasty wheel that came with my SC. Before i do, I am right in thinking this is not its original wheel? Just in case..

Re: For the love of Steering Wheels.....
Hard to tell from the pic but could be from a later 3.2 Carrera.
You might be surprised at the value, lots of people going back to original spec and nice condition, original wheels are in demand.

Re: For the love of Steering Wheels.....
Hi Johnny
I think that is from a 3.2 and not 928 etc as they have a different number of splines.
I'd be very interested in that just so I have an original wheel (aside from the current) to go with my 3.2 - please would you be kind enough to PM with a price etc?
Many thanks

Re: For the love of Steering Wheels.....
Sorry to say I listed it on ebay last night a little impulsively, and it sold overnight! I guess I underpitched the price then, although it has missing stitching and was heat perished at the top.
I could cancel it I guess but that isnt really cricket..

Re: For the love of Steering Wheels.....
Ok, once I found out that wheel in my SC wasnt original I wanted shut of it..
But what to get? After looking at all the options for a while, I can see why people come back to the Prototipo shape and look, it just works. But a brand new one wouldnt suit my old car, and old ones are many pounds of course. So, To eBay!, and a 14" dished motolita D4 taken out of a Mk3 escort, 80 quid..

A used momo boss kit and a moto-lita to momo adaptor, matt black plastidip to the spokes and satin black to the bolts.

A plastic horn push from motolita, the cheesy badge that was on the car's gearknob when I got it, and thats it

Using thumbsnap for the pics, click on them to enlarge, if you want.

Re: For the love of Steering Wheels.....
Original 'fatty' SC RS steering wheel. Feels more solid than the original from my 930. The rim is thinker, not just an extra covering of leather but more solid and doesn't flex when you twist it. Unfortunately not mine, just borrowed it to take some pictures and add to the thread. Very nice wheel.

Re: For the love of Steering Wheels.....
Fitted to the 2.7 Carrera, early Turbo and C3, the hub is concentric unlike the later 3 spoke on which the rim is thinner and raised slightly away from the centre presumably to make it easier to read the gauges, or for more leg room?
I have one that came on my '76 C3

Not Porsche but started up my Airstream Motorhome to bring up to temp and thought I'd post the steering wheel, I love it 16" loads of patina and original to the van.
