In all seriousness that sounds like one seriously cool Hot Rod…….

…..although a little 'Jury' artwork would surely help clarify your thoughts! 8)

Just one thing….

Sounds great Dan, I look forward to seeing it finished (if not as much as you do!)
Some subtle toned side graphics would look good, but I wouldn't do the roof light.

Tuthills have already done the gearbox sans LSD... So have seized on the opportunity to save a grand Darren!

I will post a proper update at the weekend after I head up there and have a look

But for now I like what I see and this sunny weather makes me want to drive the door handles off it!

Interior still bare but progressing:

Engine bay now full of 911/83 2.7 twin plug goodness

Looking like a semi complete car:

Not bothering with a spare wheel but 85 litre tank going in here:

My first trip up to Wardington for 6 months or so ... it was great to go and see my car taking shape after a long gestation period that commenced with an eBay purchase some considerable time ago

seeing the car in the metal has really reminded me why I wanted to go down this road...to go back to bare metal and make an old Porsche as good as it could be ... not just cut out the rust but make it highly usable for me. I wanted a car that could drive to work, go to Le Mans and back, and handle the odd trackday or sprint. Whilst being personalised and bespoke to me. And hopefully looking tasteful at the same time

a 1972 restoration with the best period bits married to some good modern kit

basically I am now thinking of this as being the Porsche equivalent of an Eagle E type. If I get anywhere close to that standard I'll be very happy indeed !

very happy with the paintwork, slate grey... hope these capture the mirror finish:

i've had a new loom put in the car...its not period correct but connects to all the original dials and will use a couple of supplementary switches

all the original chrome work is going back on which looks good against the grey:

the braking system is re-used from the RSR and from experience I can say the stopping power is phenomenal. whilst the Tuthills adjustable brake kit gives a lovely firm pedal. new brake lines throughout:

Looking good, will be great to see it in the flesh when we are visiting in April. I must have missed it when I was there.

Shame you are unable to make it.
