Very nearly was Rob.
The car got away from me in the rain and on oil from an earlier dump from another car, hit the muddy bank at the front then the rear.

Front body damaged, but possibly the rear suspension too, but all fixable. Just might have got away with it.

Clean and check out these next few days. Will do a simple string alignment check to see.

2024 season now over for me, have to wait until April to re-start....but will rebuild the 911 3.2 engine this winter.

Won the Midland Championship Class for the 7th time. :)

Great little car:

That is a splendid photo, one of the best I've seen of the Lola, it looks really dynamic.
Congratulations on the season result.
Sorry to hear of the your mishap.
Which part of the climb was it?

Thank you both.
This year was a 'hollow' win as I ended up being the only one in the class!
However, won it nevertheless.

To win you first have to finish.

That was not really the case on the first timed run on Sunday.
Wet and 3 year old slicks and the chance to get really close to the 2 600+ bhp class mates was on the table.

Tried too hard on the upwards run from the Esses (which i flew through) towards the dreaded cliff-edged Semi last bend before the finish. Previously oil had been dumped by another car and it all went wrong at that point. Still, damage not too bad, but not the season finisher I wanted! Completed the run but a 75 second run instead of my usual 45 secs.

Only my 3rd mishap in the car in 12 years so OK.

You have to try!!

The picture is my 'EGO SHOT' found on facebook I think at Shelsley Walsh. Taken at Bottom Esse and not the best line but exciting...coming out of Top Esse was even more dramatic as a result.

Sorry to hear that Graham - hope it’s an easy fix. If you need to apply some paint, I have an idea for you….

No paint on the Lola (so far) except for the rattle-can yellow chin stripe that has a good 600mm rip right along it, but all fixable and about £5 to fix.

New nose is £800.

Little is a better shape than a 908, inspiration for the Lola way back in 2008.

In the beginning...

Jason - it's the Pycroft-Jaguar a streamlined body built just after WWII on an SS100 chassis.

It won the first ever race at Goodwood in 1948 - coming from the back of the grid.

It got rebodied back to its original SS100 style sometime in the '60's but the Pycroft aerodynamic body was (luckily) safely stored & got re-united during its recent restoration - finished in time to make its debut back at Goodwood last year ... 75 yrs after its original race.

Apologies to Kirk for 'muscling in' on his post.
