I wonder what happened to all of those Mini-based 'specials' of the '60's - Mini Jem/Mini Marcos/Cox GTM/Unipower GT (as above)/etc ?
You hardly ever see one these days (although, ironically, there was a Unipower GT at the NEC) ...

I asked this question to Paul Matty some time ago.
He recons most are dead, but many went to Japan as did lots of Lotus. I think your pic is in Japan and the car with a UK plate.
I bought the recent (signed copy) of the book all about the Unipower. author was the originator. Strikes me not many made, but many saved and very much alive all over the world.

Probably true - the Japanese were certainly buying up lots of the original Coopers S models in the '80's/'90's.
Incidentally the Unipower picture was posted by Kirk (BILLY BEAN) not me ...

Can't answer the question Andy but I did look up Unipower For Sale a few months ago and found three or four. Very steep prices ( £75 k to over £100k) being asked too which was a surprise. If I remember correctly they were very well made both GRP shell and chassis. Always fancied one along with a Genetta G15 (Imp powered) which was less well made. Never acquired either.
Saw a Cox GTM and a G15 at the last Scramble I attended. Both superbly turned out.

We see the odd Cox GTM and Mini Marcos still hill climbing, and several G15s (which I would absolutely lovely to own). There is a fantastic orange one which competes regularly at Prescott in particular

That will be the G15 of Andy Russel, he has hillclimbed it for decades. Always says the chassis was rotton as hell all those years ago.
I lusted for a mini Marcos when at school in the '60's.

My friend had a Kingfisher Sprint, which was a Mini Marcos lookalike, until he crashed it at Cairncastle Hillclimb and was left with two subframes and a pile of green glassfibre
