Well I'm another for the jet rinse the car, bucket of warmish soapy water ( I bought 25l of car shampoo that was super cheapo about a million years ago and still have most of it), jet wash rinse, and leave. That's except for SWMBO's car (when she's watching), when I have to chamois and microfibre it dry.

Clive, thanks for the "get well". There appear to be more 'lazy washers' out there than I thought.

Peter, sorry but you lose 'lazy washer's' credence when you wash SWMBOs car. However, after wash and rinse the "leave" does get you a bonus point.

Appeal granted!!!

Went to a recent day at PCGB, well, a few years ago now, and a pro discussed ceramic treatments etc for a car.

What a lot of work for a shine.

For decades my routine for the 'fleet' (inc wife's car of course) is hose pipe rinse, good quality and cheap USA shampoo using a single bucket and a Halford's sponge with the insect mesh over it.
Have a separate one for the wheels.
Hose pipe rinse, micro fibre dry.
x 4 cars is plenty of work.

In the summer, I cant leave the droplets as the water is full of minerals.

If I feel obsessive, will clean all the window seals, tight panel joints etc with an old soft toothbrush (wifes) and even hoover the top of the modern engines to get dust out of all the plastic covers.

Clay bar'd all the cars in 2019, first time in my life, and made a huge improvement to the integrity of the Autoglym resin wax, but I may be kidding myself.

I have put your washing method to the Commitee of the LCWA ( Lazy Car Washers' Association) and unfortunately it was unanimously decided to reject your inclusion in our august group. Using tooth brushes and specially cleaning rubber compounded by a seperate bucket fior wheels is very much frowned upon. Should you decide to correct the error of your ways we would be happy to re visit our decision.

I’ve recently upgraded my car washing technique to just watching it get wet on the drive while it rains.

Definately a Queen fan but not seen that video before. I love my cars but not keeping them clean!

I wish to submit an Appeal to the Committee.
One bucket per car or everything unless really muddy.
Tooth brush only when I can see green along the side window rubbers and the Boss comments..

Also, a dirty Porsche is a good one, you should see the Boxster at times, but everyone loves a clean classic 911.

Maybe I should withdraw my appeal..

I had to take down a photo of El Chucho at a car wash I'd posted on Facebook after I received a torrent of abuse from the 'two bucket' brigade... Screw it, it's only a car.
