I never knew (or had long forgotten) that this car existed - Ferrari 350 Can Am.

Ferrari converted 2 x P4's to Spiders (including lightening them by ~90kg) in order to contest the Can Am series.

Unfortunately they were completely outclassed by the McLaren M6's of Bruce McLaren & Denny Hulme - as was everyone else !

Those R5s are great. We’ve had the “MEH” one on here before I think.

In 1989 a Turbo 1 came up for sale in Cannock. The vendor was a specialist car dealer and TVR Tuscan Racer – Clive Greenhalgh (now owner of Circuit Gaudix in Spain).

As Andy says so much better than a Turbo 2 and very rare. It was an ex Swiss car in pearlescent white, absolutely immaculate and stock original with 36K km on the clock, it was stunning to look at and a blast to drive, circa £12K if I recall.. I was sorely tempted and I immediately put my SC up for sale. Anyway I could not quite shake the Porsche bug and at the point that my SC sold a RHD 911S 2.4 Targa appeared for sale in Exchange and Mart and as they say, the rest is history. I often wonder what living with a (LHD) Turbo 1 would have actually been like, great fun but only 2 seats and I do not think it would still be sat in my garage today.
