We’ve just finished one for a customer, horrible thing to put back together, Porsche quality it ain’t! Quite nice to drive though surprisingly.

Yuch! Americans really messed up the MGB, and the E-type (as well as others). Final nail in the coffin of desirability was those 'orrible rubber bumpers....

At least that 72 version is not as bad as the full rubber bumper change!

Something different in the workshop. An ex Jersey Gestapo Traction 11G from 1938 having a total rebuild so the owner can use it from his house there. Not sure how the neighbours will react.

Lovely! I learned how to drive in my Dad's Slough-built Light 15. When I was 15 or so, he re-built the engine, had the body resprayed and re-chromed the radiator grille. It looked fabulous! He then sold it for £65 when I was 16......... It was the biggest row that I can ever remember having with him. In the 70's and 80's when they started to make thousands, I would regularly cut out the ads, and post them to him................
Having said all of that, he later bought a '55 VW Beetle, again for £65, that I learned to drive on the road, and passed my test in, which took my motoring life in a totally different direction! 8)

Both special cars! I remember first riding in a light 15 in 1954 and later on a friend bought one shortly after he learned to drive, later he bought another and rebuilt it and now he’s looking for another, preferably a French one, but he lives their now.

I saw this the other day in the cLassic Chrome showroom in Mortlake.
Perhaps of interest.
