Well, I rather thought I could rely on my memory...
That didn't entirely work. But the 1,500 iPhone pics helped. Although I should have taken more.
I don't have a workshop manual so my best reference was the PET.
I spent many evenings looking over the exploded drawings, I find that sort of thing fascinating.

The one thing Mr Moss said was: "you take it apart, you put it back together".
And that's fair enough, hopefully the guy that stripped it can remember how to reassemble it. We'll see....

Cut my finger, sealed the wound with electrical tape. NHS approved practice. Nothing to be concerned about.

Quite incredible prices paid for a number of the cars.

Mega prices for very rare or very special cars only .............these two are both!

Last few bits being removed from the shell.
You can see the battery has gone, the fuel tank has gone, the air box/mixer/heating control/blower motors have gone, wipers gone, there's just some smaller parts and wiring remaining to come out.

Then Nick took the engine out:

And I was able to strip the engine bay.

I felt the car was practically rust free. Not without rust, but - for a 23 year old car - in very good shape. Once the chassis legs were repaired it looked ready for paint to me. But the guys at Early911 wanted it blasted. It’s true it did have some corrosion on the wheel arch edges and under the engine compartment. And small areas along the sills.

Well, needless to say, it did go off for some cleaning.
And now it’s been done I’m very pleased.
It’s a real reassurance to be guaranteed free of rust and it will be good for another quarter of a century.
