Oh and another thing. I followed Darren's lead and sent off to the DVLA for the cars history file.
Well it's had more users than a 70's actress, and as many facelifts.
I am the 17th listed registered keeper (it had 4 in its first year!), and it has just had its 6th registered colour change. It was originally Tangerine, but then Black, Red, Yellow, White, Yellow and now Tangerine again. Interestingly I only ever found evidence of Tangerine and yellow (two shades) in my restoration, so I assume the others weren't 'windows out', and more what Charlie at the body shop refers to as 'blow-overs'.
It is on its second engine - replaced by Bob Watson in his ownership, hence the sticker on the fan housing - same engine type. I assume it went racing for the first time when Bob bought it in Oct 1987, and this fits with the PCGB Championship info that shows the car as No 201 in the 1988 and 1989 series. I know it was racing still in the ownership of the previous owner to me as I found the SuperCup race accreditation slip in his name under the dash (see photo earlier in this thread).
Despite the PCHK Championship sticker in the rear window I can find no evidence of it ever going to the Far East.
So somewhat different to Darren's happy tale of re-united owners, indeed all my letters/calls to previous owners have got me nowhere. Still I've got the racing photos and the DVD's.
