.
Is that Tony Lanfranchi ?

If so, it's likely to be Brands Hatch ...

Yes, it is Lanfranchi in his Elva at Brands in July 64

We visited on our honeymoon in 1992, a 2 week jaunt in my mum's 1928 Austin 7 Chummy. We were wowed by everything about the place, including the wine, bought a case of which we have 1 bottle left. I have a feeling that the wine wasn't as good as it seemed on the day of the tasting.... I'm not sure what occasion will cause us to drink the 1 remaining bottle. Whils eating our picnic in the car park, a mouse that had hitched a ride at a hotel in Alsace hopped out from under the passenger's seat, down onto the running board, looked at us and the surroundings and decided to alight here. I'm sure Monsieur Pont already had plenty of mice..... ImageImage

 Back in the late 70s I had a tutor who drove an SM as a daily. Leeds was a grim place in those days and a Citroen spacecraft, set against those dark satanic mills, was pretty mind blowing.

I hear they are quite complicated.

Important to buy a good one.

Make sure the sure the suspension settles. :laughing6:

I'd be pretty happy with any of the cars in that photo...

In estate form it certainly makes me feel nostalgic: the headmaster at my school in 1980ish had one:
Officially it's a 7 seater, but he often squeezed 9 kids plus himself into that thing
I bought one of those in 1990 to drive eight of us to Tuscany, a bit of a squeeze. Sold it when we came back for a small profit.

Does Tony run his car (what ever he is running these days) at Harewood hillclimb? and live out Yeadon way (or somewhere North Leeds?)

it wasnt Tony then
I suspect it was David,as it was around 2011
I used to do some spannering for a friend who ran his mini in the British hillclimb championship. As Harewood is our local course I turned up one time in my Celica GT4 rather then the company provided hack.
David came over and asked if I would have a look at one he had in his garage and help put a value on it which I did. Very nice guy.
