Suggestion is it's Reims '65, Steve McQueen researching his original race movie Day of the Champion. Grand Prix got off the line quicker and Champion got canned 'cos Warner Bros boss didn't want “to be the man to make a second film about racing!” After finding out about Grand Prix McQueen didn't speak to James Garner for 2 years and went on to make Le Mans

I think it's Director John Sturges (Great Escape & others) on the left. Any ideas for the guy on the right? Could be just a film schmo

think actually it's discussing where to attach cameras on a visit to Alan Mann Racing workshop, Byfleet (AMR did the Goldfinger DB5 & Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)

A couple for Andy and in the second picture Grahams next motorbike project hanging on the back wall!

Chateau de Savigny-les-Beaune (museum) which houses a collection of about 30 Abarth sports prototype and race cars, more motorbikes than I have ever seen in one place and acres of war planes parked in the grounds. Did I mention the wine tasting?

Ah, Chateau de Savigny, it's a fab place owned be a wonderfully eccentric chap called Michel Pont. We visited on our honeymoon in 1992, a 2 week jaunt in my mum's 1928 Austin 7 Chummy. We were wowed by everything about the place, including the wine, bought a case of which we have 1 bottle left. I have a feeling that the wine wasn't as good as it seemed on the day of the tasting.... I'm not sure what occasion will cause us to drink the 1 remaining bottle. Whils eating our picnic in the car park, a mouse that had hitched a ride at a hotel in Alsace hopped out from under the passenger's seat, down onto the running board, looked at us and the surroundings and decided to alight here. I'm sure Monsieur Pont already had plenty of mice..... ImageImage

I think Iain is the in love. Why is this workshop always empty when he does a test drive in the middle of the day?

Not changed much.. It's difficult to imagine what a monumental effort would have been required to race a car for 24 hours back then, especially in those conditions. Chapeau!
