The 'Maverick' Classic Porsche Forum and Classic Porsche Club for Porsche 356, Aircooled Porsche 911, Porsche 912, Porsche 914 & Porsche Replicas. 'We join for the cars but stay for the people'
Many years ago when I was looking to buy my first classic car, a Borgward Isabella was on our shortlist (along with the Karmann Ghia in all its guises) and I do have a soft spot for them. This is the first combi version I've seen, there can't be many around these days and I do have a soft spot for estate cars.
If you were to buy the car it would be preserved. All on DDk would enjoy your tenure.
If I were to buy the car I'd fill it with bits of wood, a Black and Decker Workmate and all manner of mess. it would be ruined within a year.
They were horrible to drive in their day, I doubt if it has improved with age ...........
Drive one of these, or the offerings from BMC, or even a 1970's Sherpa, and you will appreciate how good the original VW Type 2 was.

An engineer once used to work for me when I worked in the RV business, he had a Bedford like that, converted when it was new.
He took me out for a short drive in it, and it was truly awful. He kept it for 10 years too.
