Then I stripped the whole wing inside and out before epoxy masticing the inside

Then it was time to fit it back onto the car...

This is part way through - I spread out my pulse welding to try and avoid heat build-up in any one area

A bit of satin black to keep the rust away.

Time to move on to the next repair....

The bottom part of the drip rail

Now this had been a problem for a number of years. I’d tried a bit of a fix at the last restoration work involving some lead. I was never happy with how it turned out and sure enough it started rusting through badly within a year

I was nervous about doing this bit as it’s awkward - you’ve got the roof part coming down which curves up into a flange, and then you’ve got the wing part coming up from below which folds over that roof flange, forming the gutter.

The bit above is after I started to grind off the top of the folded over flange. I wanted to make sure I left as much of the roof flange as possible so I would have something to fold over

Luckily I found a YouTube video by Trev’s Blog (who is weird but utterly excellent) who had done this exact repair.

I photographed the screen as it was playing - this is the flange he made, which was the exact shape I had to make
