And of course my dad didn't.
I've always thought it a particularly stylish thing to do (not the shagging another blokes wife bit)

... that’s the kind of story I love ... usually told by the old bloke sat at the bar after a few whiskeys with a proper posh English accents though

Dad never mentioned it. My mum told me

.
Excellent !!
I've been tempted numerous times over the past couple of years to get another '4' - I owned several versions in the '70's/'80's including a Fourgonette which I took down to the Pyrenees.
Fabulous little cars/vans & a great alternative to a 2CV ...

My dad had Renaults back in the 1960s and through to the late 70s. As he bought an R10 ('1100' as it was sold over here) brand new, he was always invited back to drive the latest release. My brother managed to convince the salesman to take us out in a new R4 and, at the age of about 14, I was hooked.
This car (1977 4L) is down near Toulouse and was owned by a convent up until 2011! A local 'garagiste' rescued it and sold it to the current owner in 2012, who used it for his wedding and not a lot else. I'm sure it will need work but it has a current CT and appears to be a very honest car. The sales negociations have been handled by a friend who is/was a member of the R Gruppe who's just moved back to France running an import/export business based an hour from Toulouse.

100% agree.
Bus roof and rear 1/4's and custom rolled sheet in between?
Colour is a great brave choice, any poor panel work would show up.
Excellent car.

Excellent car.
It may be, or based on, a Beutler which were Swiss. The Belguim company Meeussen also made a similar one. It is very nice.
