yeah appreciate its still not cheap, but at the same time, its about 1/4 the price of some of the wheels I've been looking at on ebay

I paid Jonathan to do it so you’re better off asking him - user jtparr on the forum. He did a great job on mine.

I should also add that now I’ve driven with it for a couple of weeks this is the best driving wheel I’ve had. It feels great in so many ways - the most important being the feel you get when going fast around corners - you really get to feel what the wheels are doing and the thicker rim is just right.

One other point about the wheel - because I had to modify the wheel so it fits a momo hub, the upshot of that is that you can’t get to the main nut holding the wheel on without talking the wheel off the hub.

The issue there is that it takes a bit of torque to undo that nut, and normally you can hold onto the wheel to counteract the pressure. If you just rely on the steering lock to turn against, the likelihood is that you’ll break the steering lock.

I had to take the wheel off last week-end to investigate a scraping noise (turned out it was just the horn contact ring having worn through a bit - easy fix) and so decided to make a tool that would bolt onto the MOMO fixings, but take a socket so I could balance the pressure required to remove the nut.

If you're using a Momo hub why didn't you remove the original splined centre from the s/wheel - then you'd have access to the retaining nut without the need for a special tool ?
