Keep me posted on this as I too want to fit one of these rain covers on to my car. I was thinking of putting a rivnut onto an angle bracket and sticking this with a polyurethane mastic to the inner panel.

I've a hunch it was never there. Mine doesn't have one, while my later 3.2 car has a little tab.

Definitely there before on my car, complete with authentic period rust around it

im sure a bracket could be bonded in place as some of these modern bonding agents are superb

I’ve made one and fitted it with some 3M tape used for body mouldings etc. Won’t be coming off any time soon

New master cylinder on tonight. Those pipes from the reservoirs and the way they ‘connect’ always feels so unsatisfactory.

It works I guess, but I don’t like it! And they are a pain to fit

And a bit of plumbing with new hoses



Also finished the rear with new backing plates.
So apart from fluid (and chasing the leaks!) that’s the brakes done.

Still waiting on the important gearbox bit, but plenty to keep me busy

Made all four arch liners today, got the brackets fitted for the LH front.

The lip seal sits pretty well on both sides, stops about 20mm short of the arch lip so it doesn’t encourage crap to collect and can still be easily wiped out when washing the car.

RH front needs a bit of thought for the forward bracket as the convenient horn bracket on the battery box isn’t there!

Rears are pretty simple, one bracket coming off the trailing arm bracket and the rear screwed into the bumper mounting tube.






Got to keep that Welsh sheep shite out of the arches!

I’ve had Lokaris in mine for ages. They were just in a right state with the aluminium having rotted away under the edge seal due to the steel staples. They worked well though.

LMC still seems a long way away when I look at the car!

Nah, you have lots of time, and not that much to do.
Interior is just carpets and those great seats of yours, seat belts in. Engine back in over a weekend inc the reassembly of the box.
Brake bleed could be quick or protracted!

Geo set up, all DIY with a few tools and bits of fishing line and B&Q 'metal moulding' tubes, a weekend tops if corner weights not too critical.
I have caster/camber tools if you want to borrow them.

MoT
European driving documents and some money if you have any left over!

Might have to pop rivet some arch extensions on, but sure it will be fine…
