2.4T engine rebuild

Maybe not ;) it went in, then it came out again and to take the box off so I could align the clutch lever to the bearing this time around. It's now back in again but nothing connected.

Luckily I hadn't gone too far plumbing and wiring before I realised the mistake.

Hopefully I'll grab some time Saturday, I want to start it before fitting driveshafts etc just in case!

We've all missed the fork in the bearing in day gone by, so easy to do.

Wise move on those drive shafts, terrible job.

Good luck with it Gary, but I'm sure it will be sound as a £.

Well. Who would have thought?

Started first turn of the key and settled into a smooth 6 cylinder idle... :drunken: :drunken: :drunken:

I've never been so scared of starting a car in my life, thought of hundreds of hours and thousands of pounds going bang was a bit too much for me :)

Now to put the rest of the bits on, and work out why the alternator light is on when the ignition is off and off when it's on...

See, told ya! :alien:

Nice one, always a heart beat skipper when you turn the key, it fires, and you STARE hard at the oil pressure gauge.

You should be good for SPA then after all? :)

Fantastic! Think of all that money you didn't have to spend on laxatives today as well. Double bonus.

It's definitely the single most terrifying part of a build I think.
