I have childhood memories of going camping with my best mate and his folks in one of those. With both parents smoking in the front.

Looks cool Graham! whats the plan with the amp specs, etc?
I've considered building one for a while - most likely a valve amp of some sort, but the terminology and things are 100% alien to me so never really got beyond thinking about it!

Without derailing the thread... It's a Class A transistor amp designed by Nelson Pass - a kit from the US. It's not very pureist as the power is from a power brick - us amateurs aren't trusted with big fat mains transformers! I'll do a valve amp one day.

Super, my Dad had one as a company car when I was a lad. Same as that, yellow with vinyl roof.

My brother had one in Australia with a big 6 cylinder engine which was fun to drive.

My memories of my Dad’s dark blue example are burning my legs on the black vinyl seats and having to get out so it was able to get up a hill in Devon towing a trailer!

Ref mike's Boeing (I think it is) went up in one in Calistoga, California back in the 90's in blistering heat.

That radial was something else, the pilot the same, total nutter.

Whilst browsing for some family history I came across this picture of my uncle in the mid 60's testing the first lightweight GT40 at Goodwood.
