They moved from beam axles and cart springs for good reasons...
But I know what you mean.
Still hanker for a Ford model A hot rod again, but more sensibly a 30's british saloon of some sort could be had for the value of my Boxster.

Sorry to be a pedant. No beam axle at the front: sliding pillar. Although I think later and more powerful models have dispensed with sliding pillar and cart springs.

Sorry if im being totally dumb, but why the ferrari badge on the alfa?
I appreciate both are italian, and also there have been various tie-ups between many of the italian companies over the years, but don't think i've ever seen that before..

At the beginning of the 1930's Scuderia Ferrari was the (un)official racing team for Alfa Romeo.

The 8C 2300 was one of the cars they competed with (although I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if the car pictured is an original or a Pur Sang replica ...)

Your pedantry is excused, as you are correct!!
I was confusing my beam front axles and live rear axles.
And…..I think, that though they are famous for sliding pillar suspension, it technically isn't, it's a fixed pillar with a sliding hub……..

The 'modern' bonded alloy tub aero 8's, +8's, aeromax's have double wishbone high tech suspension.

Ahh -- Alfa 1900 a big favourite of mine. They also produced a nice Zagato variant and this 1900C Touring Super Sprint Berlinetta
