Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
I love type 35s - a real one is achievable fantasy but I've craved a Pur Sang for a few years - however the recent MOT stuff looks like making them an impossibility in the UK ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

just been watching the youtuber generation walkarounds

... I like SUV's a lot , the Bentley ( which is colour sensitive & I origially disliked ) I've walmed to alot , I pass one in a silver most days . This Roller, I just can't get my head around the awful style / look of the glass area. As the post further up pointed out, it looks like a taxi . The car versions at least have a sense of stule to their roof / glass area, this just looks awful.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
I’m sorry, I can’t stand either - I say sorry because I know you’ve put a lot of work into them and they’ve been a real labour of love for people who work for the companies
they’re so obscenely big, and most of the ones I’ve seen seem to be driven in a certain way.. they’re a bit “out of my way peasants” and I find the whole thing a bit distasteful. In my head at least a RR should be something that stands out but some how blends in and quietly goes about its business

Yes, but there are cars that fall between the extremes.......better and legaler than a Pur Sang, and much cheaper than the Raglan 51......sladey wrote:I love type 35s - a real one is achievable fantasy but I've craved a Pur Sang for a few years - however the recent MOT stuff looks like making them an impossibility in the UK
That Rolls represents admirable effort, interesting technology, all combined into one ghastly vehicle. I'm glad that there are people who want things like that, to keep the programme going and that their desires are satisfied without them coming near the stuff I like!

Interesting comments guy's & not unexpected. I'm not here to defend the industries choices I have no control over that.
It's frustrating for me working with this project over the last 3+ years, starting off back then with my own VERY strong opinions & then learning to accept that this is the future and fighting it is futile. Seems that SUV's are what is filling the coffers of nearly all manufacturers today, if you haven't got one you'll simply get left behind. Porsche realised this in the mid 90's but its taken a lot of dragging kicking & screaming for everyone else to join in.
Even Aston have one for launch next year (& OMG)
Personally there's not much I REALLY like thats built after 1980
Reality is, that without money rolling in from SUV's, companies will either struggle or have no funds for investing in their other models.
It's a Business after all & if Alan Sugar's apprentices don't twig that the money is in the ghastly tacky nodding bulldogs in union jack waistcoats, they'll lose the task.
It's been an interesting reception so far....
and Soooooo Yesterday for me (Gary will know what I mean
)
Besides, already looking at it's replacement![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)
For me know, it's all about the Engineering & intergration of the Tech. With Wraith GPS looks at where you are & the road ahead and pre-selects optimum gears. Cullinan takes this one step further and can scan the terrain around it and pre-select suspension settings.
It also has the first of the next generation platforms that hopefully will lead to more options on Bespoke Coachwork (not just fancy paint & trim, but individual custom body designs; going back to more traditional pre-war coachbuilding principal)
It's interesting times we live in

Not my cup of tea, but they all follow the same block on wheels with a grill.

Read in Car magazine last night, Maclaren are the only heavy company left without and SUV.

I love our early Cayenne but Mercedes, (despite the dubious buyers) still the only people to do it properly.911hillclimber wrote: Maclaren are the only heavy company left without and SUV.
But maybe it's time to resurrect truck racing, then we'd all like these things a little more especially if it was a rallycross format!
