Shame about the ugly brick on wheels spoiling an otherwise stunning landscape ...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
2nd one yes, but the first is either a T37 or a T35A, all the 51s had ally wheels with the 330mm brakes, and twin fillercaps. The wire wheel cars were the 'customer' models. Although there was scepticism at Brooklands about the strength of the Aluminium wheels. The T37 had a 1500cc 4 cylinder engine, the T35A a splash fed plain bearing 8 cyl engine derived from the T30 road car. The full T35 engine was a 2l all roller bearing unit, on carbs. The 35C a supercharged version and the T35T grew to 2300cc and became the 35TC (or 35B) when supercharged. The side view doesn't go far enough forward to show the point where the front brake cable passes through the chassis, this, and sight of the sump would identify the number of cylinders.....Lightweight_911 wrote:Yes, 1st one's a 1933 Type 51 & 2nd ones a 1925 Type 35 ...
All cool though, don't get me started.......

Sorry for the mis-information Winston - I was just going by the caption that accompanied the photo which claimed it was Lord Raglan's 1933 Type 51 Grand Prix - I should have checked my facts ...
