Here's what's in my UK RHD 69 S
(Please don't treat this as a reference pic - it's an ex race car with other detail changes eg steering wheel, tacho, massive roll cage!).
The switch is original, but missing the repeater bulb etc (does not flash).

More usefully, here's possibly the most original RHD 69 S in the world. Now resident in Australia, but I think it was a UK car originally.

Thankyou for some definitive photographs I can go on the hunt now! I have been looking at other threads and trust me, you dont know about the millions of questions I have answered to myself in this way as I dont need to post them! It is hard though to find definitive info on some details. I looked for hours on many forums for the special dimensions of a 69 dash and then I ask and Mike just pings it out of nowhere, same with this 69 euro hazard knob issue.

I think I will invest in some sound deadening, I do like to be able to hear myself think, and yes multipurpose is the idea.

Fair enough!
BTW I checked - Clyde's red car, pictured above, was indeed UK originally before departing for Australia.

OK so whoevers brilliant idea it was not to put the fuse amperages on the fuse box, labels, OR on the wiring diagrams needs a good kicking. Are we supposed to be psychic? Ive searched for an hour now for the fuse info for a '69 to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas on these or where I can find the info?

Another question, this time the glovebox dash badge for a RHD car, is sit supposed to be on the left near the window or right near the middle of the car? I have seen it both ways around many times.

It's a Porsche 380mm wheel, as fitted to the 2.7 RS, and also used in various competition cars. (Standard wheel is 400mm).
Porsche allegedly used to favour the 380mm and earlier "Hockey Puck" horn push (like mine in the pic) on race cars, because it got in the way of fancy wheelsmithing a bit less. Although not sure how true that is, since surely most race cars didn't have a horn....
Anyway that wheel + horn push combination has become a bit of a standard sports purpose combo - loads of people use it. It looks great (IMHO) and feels the right size (IMHO).

My one on the '69 car is "double wrapped" hence the thicker rim. I think I prefer the original delicate rim.

There's a very very long thread on early S about 380mm wheels, including info about which 914 wheels (basically the same, but detail differences) can be made to work on 911s.

Original hockey pucks in excellent condition are fairly pricey. Repros exist but all the ones I've seen are a bit wrong...

Thanks for the info ill have to keep a look out for a nice different wheel, that 380 looks lovely, i think i prefer the centre horn push. Itll be a long way off in the distance as far as my money priorities go though...

Whilst in between tasks I thought id look at my seats properly. This is what I have, seat backs and bases and some possibly random hinges.

1) Are these seats correct for the year?

2) Are these hinges correct for these seats, if not, will they fit anyway?

3) They have been recovered presumably in a period covering? (cloth and vinyl)

4) These seats have no headrests but have been recovered, maybe the slots have been covered over or maybe not... in any case should 69 cars have integrated headrests on these seats? or were they optional etc?

5) The big question - I have no seat rails or anything else seat related, are the rails specific to these seats? or std 69 911 rails? am I missing anything other than seat rails?

Those are Recaro sport seats - highly desirable.

They are the correct 'style' for '69-on models but should have headrests & are obviously missing several vital (& very expensive) parts.

That combination of fabrics (vinyl & cord) was not theoretically offered in '69 but many owners have subsequently fitted sport seats so you could justify that along those lines (assuming you can locate the rare/expensive missing parts !)

At first glance you'll need:

- side hinges (finished in textured black paint) which are different to the hinges on std (non-sport) seats
- headrests (the receiving tubes should already be in the seats*
- seat runners/rails (again different to those for std seats)
- tilting seat bases/frames for lwb models

* if you feel along the top of the seatbacks you should be able to feel the open ends of the tubes through the fabric

.

For reference, this is what the seat side hinges look like (they're fitted to the 'outer' side of the seats):

- & this is a lwb tilting seat base incorporating the sliders/rails for sport seats:

I have these hinges. They look the same. Definitely have no tilting bases though... :( And youre right I can see the tubes through the gap between the seat bask cushion and side cushion when I pull them apart. No way to feel them through such thick cushioning

Been making progress.

Installed the wiper assembly after I managed to get hold of some threaded spindle guide shafts. And the heater/blower assembly after I managed to get numerous parts to complete it including the motor and the upper parts of the flap assemblies, I had to salvage one assembly after I realised finding intact ones is very difficult, all the ones I could find were no better than what I had.

When testing my blower, a blue light came on the lever controller when put in position II but nothing on I or III, should this light up in all 3 positions? What controls the lighting of the bulb on the assembly itself as its something I assume I will have to look at.

Never could find the gaskets for where the hoses come up through the bulkhead. I read somewhere they are a 1 year only part? If true there's no chance of finding any new ones so I bought some rubber U shaped panel edging and used that.

Fitted some sound deadening.

Tackled the repair needed to the passenger side rear vent window. Fortunately I have some of the original paint so it should match well assuming there hasnt been much change in the paint in the can/on the car over the years.

Headliner
Image

Does anyone know what this extra loose piece of material that came with the headliner is for? Is it for along the bottom of the rear window? If not, what goes along the bottom of the rear window, surely there must be something here?
Image
Image

Trying to figure out my carpets, I think I have it pretty much down but not too sure on where these two pieces go? They have a "3 wide hard card strip across the back of them?
Image

Unfortunately I think I am missing all my garnish rails and a driver side rear side card.

Those two pieces should go on the reverse side of the rear seat backs. Have they got two holes in them?
