Body progress. No real explanation required......
















The body will be moving units at the end off the week. I shall have to travel some real distance to see it :what:
However, on the plus side there is a newly installed spray booth! This should give us the opportunity to get the clear over base just right

So, looking back up this thread a little ways, you will see i'm most of the way through refurbishing the heater controls. Well just for fun at my day job I did this





I know it won't be seen, but I just thought if a jobs worth doing and all that....

Excellent progress.

Okies, so appologies for not being around for quite some time. However kinda back now and ready to update a little on Project Blue Book. There has been a lot going on and for those of you that have a nose on Instagram you will have already seen much of what follows...
So where do we leave this all those months ago

The dashboard is now crackle finished. Hard to get good photo's of it as it's so wide.





There has been many, many, many hours spent stripping, painting and plating parts. I hope I can remember where it all goes later on!

One of the next jobs was to strip the seat bases down.








You can see the seat runners whilst sat in the car, so they had to look the part. I played around with some more of the crackle finish here which I think works.



Onto the window winders, which were in a shocking state at the window seals had bailed out years ago and let the water right in!









Onto the headlights. These are pop up so a lot of parts to go through.















Wiper assembly came in for much of the same!







Next came the trickiest project so far. the pedle box sits deep down where the sun don't shine and the water collects. There is a huge ugly roll pin that holds it all together. This after much effort and mangling in the vice was given up on and handed over to Tobyone to get an engineering angle on. Again, thanks Toby :thumb:






That was soooo many hours to get to this

This next piece is an early ABS system for the rear brakes. A fantastically simple thing but works very well if set up correctly.







So I guess I should leave it there for now as it's time for a shower and food.

Thanks fellas. Just thought it was time for an update. Stuck on the wiring loom at the mo. Two whole days in and not a great deal to show for it!

Fantastic - and the floor photos are very helpful for me to take a look before I start tearing the interior out of mine at some point to rustproof (and prevent water getting in...). On that latter point, would it be possible for you to take a photo looking down into the void where the petrol tank sits, on the driver's side?

I suspect rain is getting into the pedal area on mine that way, thanks to blocked drain holes in the air-box thingie, but unsure if there is a then a hole or seam that allows water into the car, or if it's rusted through.

All the inside surfaces are painted and lacquered. The outside is prepped ready for silver to go on first for the stripes and then the blue and finally lacquer. I need to fit tyres and just make sure they will fit under the arches before committing in case we need to 'Roll' the arches

Thank you ever so much fellas. I wish I had more than a day a week to work on the car. But slowly, slowly catchy monkey I guess. Onto the wiring loom at the moment. So into the viper pit!
