Love this kind of thing, I appreciate my car is far removed from the tipo 33/3 but love the heritage and the fact that my car was made in 1971.

This will be a joy to pull out of the drawer.

The shop who are doing the work are in East Kilbride, Colin in Airdrie was too busy and my plan was to do a light refresh. Don't ask!

I have used Alex who owns Jaqs before, they worked on my 911T. Extremely tidy and great quality of work. In terms of the Alfa they have fallen in love with it and I get the impression they are really enjoying working on the car, clean and simple with no surprises.

I am looking forward to seeing it all come together.

If I sold the 911 I have 2 'next cars'; I could have one of these and can't have a FHC E Type now, and I know of a killer Alfa restored to 'race image' for about £35K....ponder...

I looked at this set of photos for quite a while...

... and noted that there are hardly any detail shots of the car at all.
In many of them there is a young lady in the way of the all-important spot welds.
Do these people know nothing about selling cars?

Richard, your right. Women in the pictures and more atmospheric than anything that provides detail. I can go off track so easily.

Picked up my dash today, delighted with the way it has turned out. Slightly different finish to original, crackled slightly rather than smooth.

Just thought I would share these, trying to convince my wife its a good look.

I popped in over the weekend to check on progress, the garage is busy on other projects so not much has happened.

The car now has the fiberglass boot lid and bonnet fitted, the original springs will need stretching as both fly open like a jack in a box. I will make a point of weighing the car once its compete, there really is nothing to it. I only wish I had weighed it before the work started to see the difference with all the paint, filler and crap taken off it. It will all help, the engine is only a 1600 so the lighter the better.
