Ok, so I´ve put in 100 miles in the car so far! Such a wonderful feeling to be driving it and just as I had imagined I´m very close to the red zone on the tach.. :D
Started working for a MOT todat, bled the brakes once again, adjusted the E-brake and the brake light switch. I have a bit of dragging on the rear right caliper, seems like the spring isn´t returning the pads all the way back, there´s a schreeching, annoying sound... There´s no heat problem from the dragging, it´s just a minima touch that produces that annoying sound.. I will drive it a bit more and re group if neccessary.
Evening test drive
Cheers!

It really does look a nice car, and what a vibrant deep colour.
Nice build and a good interesting thread.

Cheers!
Last week I reached another milestone, a clean sheet from the MOT
Drove some 250 miles and tried to get to know the car better, our relationship has really grown =)
Paused and made some fitting adjustments to the front bumper, we have had some amazing late summer weather here in Stockholm which really enriches the experience.
Regards

Thanks! I´ve really enjoyed the ride, I haven´t reached the end yet and I believe I never will but that´s what it´s all about, I guess!

So, 2 weeks into a new job and a son expected within a month. I try to spend every possible moment behind the wheel! We´ve had some wonderful late summer weather here in Stockholm.
The car was running a bit rough, spitting and poppin thorugh carbs and exhaust so I decided it was time for a proper tune up the other day. Adjusted valve clearence, adjusted timing and carbs but still running rough.. So I wiggled the spark plug caps and click... The cyl#4 one had came a bit loose and was the cause of the problem... The engine ran and pulled stronger than ever after that embarrasing correction.
Well well, at least everything is set up correctly now =)
Met a neighbor and his 275 GTB and had a great talk, he uses the car as his dily driver and drive´s it to southern Europe at least once every summer, such a rolemodel!

A big thank you for such an entertaining thread Jesse. A truly exceptional result and a special incentive for me to crack on. I think the Golfblue looks superb. One of the very best colours.
Happy motoring, new job and new family member. Hey, give your wife a big hug, you couldn't have done it without her beside you!
