Cause of much merriment at The Fairmile last night was Mike's threat to divert attention from my project back to his by posting pictures of his steering wheel.
So to pre-empt him...

I got this wheel some time ago from Andy. Unlike Mike I don't even know the diameter of the wheel never mind the diameter of the rim. It could be double wrapped. Probably is. Yes, it is.
Anyway the stitching is done with some seventies NOS Genuine Porsche Factory Racing Team Steering Wheel Thread. I've got plenty more reels of this VERY EXPENSIVE thread if you're interested.

Houndstooth seats in black & white.
White headliner and black carpets.
Honestly you couldn't colour coordinate this better if you used an interior designer.

As we are talking colour coordination, can I hear a small shout from one side of the workshop: "How about black window frames?"

I've only had three enquiries trying to purchase my NOS FRTSW thread so far.

Yes, I heard that Russell had been searching for that for some years.

'Got my plates ready too. Quite a nice registration number actually.

It'll be a pressed aluminium plate on the rear and a stick on plastic for the underside of the standard front bumper (not 'S' style bumper).

Hey thats realy weird. I just got my plates back and unpacked then 5 mins ago , pressed alloy with a decal type front.

I dont have a K plate being a back date owner so had to sign a disclaimer for "show only" then reused my '75 number.

Apparently its just as naughty to put black plates with a pre 74 suffix on any shell registered post 74 so I took the cheaper option of naughty 75 plates ( if that makes sense)


It kinda goes with my homage rather than replic ethos.

I love the attention to detail as well, especially as Ferryman has had a lucky star pointing him in the direction of the NOS FRTSW thread.

Mike, there is only really one solution: either prozac or start all over again with your steering wheel.

Adhering to the 'black & white' theme for the car, I've got this bonnet badge in black & err... silver.
It's made of precious lightweight alloys. Probably lighter than a decal.

No curry next Tuesday and u ll be almost as light as the car ! ........we ll double up on all Mikes of course !
