Thanks for the support so far: Darren, all good points. Order of events as I see it:

1) Let this thread run until end next week (20th) just to get rough gauge of support for the idea in principle.

Assuming support for the idea then:

2) Choose admin person / or confirm choice as appropriate.
3) General ideas for charity.
4) Final vote for charity.
5) Contact charity as per Darren's post.

Most of the next few stages will probably be dictated from that contact point.

Bootsy has kindly agreed that if this gets going, there will be a new Charity heading on the forum: thanks Bootsy

So I suggest that we let this thread run, and see what interest/ideas/highlighted problems etc etc occur.

Since the auction of pmjt is supporting the Macmillan Nurses, how about we take a vote on Macmillan for the charity we first support, the auction seems to be going very well and it could give us an amazing start to things due to Phillip’s incredible generosity .

As he says, with pmjt's generous donation we'd be off to a flying start.

By the way - for those poised with pen on cheques the charity is Macmillan Cancer Relief. They're the ones that sponsor Macmillan nurses.

Cancer affects 1 in 3 of the population. Think about it!
