Gary - did you have the correct H1 lenses in your H1 headlamps ?
The reason I ask is that because of the scarcity of RHD H1 lenses some people fit new RHD H4 lenses when they import a LHD car. These are not compatible with the H1 reflector set-up - they don't focus the beams correctly & result in greatly diminished lighting power.
If your H1's are in good condition do you want to sell them ?

Gary, even if the H1 reflectors are shot, I'd be interested in them as a source of spares if you do find them.
H4 lenses have 'H4' embossed on them, H1 lenses are clear at the top (as opposed to a 'pebblegrain' finish on the H4's):

I currently run (no pun intended) standard 55w/60w but will upgrade to something illegal at some stage. You MUST put a pair of relays into any upgrade that involves more wattage - no bad thing for standard wattages, too! Takes the load off the switch and the dip/main selector. Look for the kit produced by M Sucro (www.msucro.com ?) and glean the info - can be easily replicated with bits from Vehicle Wiring Products (or Halfords, if you must).
