Good point, the challenge of bringing something like that GT3 back to Ireland, is it'd get charged Vat + Duty, Plus 40% of what they think it's worth in Ireland to register it. So the import duties would be 80k. Anything before 1995 gets away with "only" Vat and Duty.

In that case buy from Europe ? Aircooled LHD. Cause it’s a better driving position and how it should be

Trouble is, a 996 GT3 is 90k€ in Europe nowadays.

There's also no aircooleds for sale for reasonable money - I'm always on the lookout...

My car - a LHD 1971 911T - is likely be available in the near future (Spring) & will be well within a £60k budget ...

Rhd due to majority of tracks being clockwise direction … all good if car designed from scratch as rhd… aircooled 911 pedal position deffo a compromise in rhd over lhd… I have had rhd in the past and actively purchase lhd aircooled these days… all of course just my opinions, but hopefully I won’t be frequenting the knee and hip doctor as early as the rhd drivers

( to be fair I find the 964/993 with sports seats to be worse as they seem to hold your hips … early rhd’s I’ll let off as they’re not that bad )

Nothing in particular, at least not until I get my splittie sold. I would like to scratch a couple of itches like a 928 for longer tours, and a slaggy 944 for attacking Zandvoort at least once.
Realistically, I'm probably going to pay off my mortgage with whatever I get for the splittie, with maybe a wee bit left over for garage renovation.

In that case I'm happy to be a 'laughing stock' - every air-cooled early Porsche I've owned (about 20 including 356, 912, 904 & ~ a dozen 911's) plus numerous classic Lancia, Alfa, etc models have - out of choice - been LHD ...

Anyway, I don't think any car was designed specifically for LHD (or vice versa). Clutch pedal is not the same as the throttle pedal so there will always be differences, especially where the front wheel well (front axle line) is close to the driver as is the case of the 911.
