No I don’t believe that is the correct place.

Lee has done some wonderful restorations and flies a little under the radar.
He has a penchant for getting things done right and I’m sure Eve was fully documented both in notes and photos both before and during restoration. These I have not seen as they will be between him and the owner but Lee and I had a few conversations about the interesting unique details he found on this shell. When I saw the car at Autoworld it was locked so I could only judge the outside and underneath and it was beautifully done in both quality and originality. I think it was Gary (71) who said the history of the car, as documented in our discovery thread, was developed from a test mule through various transformations and the restoration could only be accurate to one of those states. I think it was therefore carefully considered how to restore before work began. Hence the decision to keep the car rhd and retain its mixture of swb and lwb details, removing the obvious aftermarket ducktail and later front seats in favour of the original restored items. I think these were the right decisions and I think the car almost represents how it presented itself in January 1969. Lee, I believe, at some considerable extra cost and time (over simply replacing with new) tried to restore with as much of the original metal work in the shell as possible. I think the final result was just as perfect as it could have been. It’s a sign of the times I think that such an important 911 did not register with the Autoworld clientele as much as it deserved. I think to most it looked just like any standard early 911 and attention was drawn more to the other 911’s in the line up. To Brendan and me though she was the star of the show as we knew (see photo above) just what a fantastic journey this little 911 has covered both before, during and after our unexpected discovery.
