All change at ‘Classic Porsche’ Mag?

This last one left me cold as ice.
I found little to be of interest, but at times some other mags loose me too, even Octane.

Recently I thought the Classic mag was actually good, articles worth reading, but even I read mistakes and some phrasing all a bit 'Max Power'.

I've had a reminder about renewal and that is not at the top of my list.
Maybe the Old Porsche subject has been ploughed over just far too many times?

There's plenty of good fresh material out there, especially 'new' archive material hidden in the depths of Porsche's filing system. But as far as I know, the current editor has never even been to visit the Porsche archives to meet Jens and his team.

And if you want to know what kind of Porsche magazine I have always wanted to do, grab a copy of Automobil Sport... Now that's a great magazine!

What about 000?

I have my own thoughts on 000 - I always found it a little too up itself with overly long features on relatively minor stuff, but then they have 280 pages to fill... Nicely presented, though. But $100 per issue is somewhat excessive.

Automobil Sport is just under 16 Euros. My target was quarterly 180 pages, £15-£20 per issue.

Sadly I don't have the funds to do it and discussions with Geoff Love and David Lillywhite (Magneto, Octane, Salon Privé, Hothouse Media) came to nothing.

Bet there is enough online info out there for AI to write a decent enough article about anything Porsche related. Boom, drop a few photos in there and you have a mag!

I can’t even hardly lift 000. It’s the most unwieldy ‘magazine’ ever, pretentious in a nerdy way, with an occasional brilliant feature. I bought my gen 1 GT3 as a result of reading Richard Meaden’s article re- assessing the first GT3’s.

My take on AI is that if you couldn't be arsed to write it, I can't be arsed to read it.

It’s not that bad! Especially since Magneto’s hardly a lightweight tome…
