meet at donington around 12 (ish), If you arrive and no one is there, don't go home! it may be we have just got

1) lost
2) broken down
3) stuck in traffic

A few of use are meeting and then driving down the A43 (I think it is), but no organised cruise in as such.

of course we can always do a bit of a cruise on the way home....

Hi all nice to meet some of you sorry i had to shoot off but i collected my 912 from Nottingham it passed its mot with flying colour.
stopped off at about 3pm on the way home and there were quite a few more of you plus a few 911s. but it was peeing with rain and windscreen wipers had desided to knot themselves togeather and the rain seemed to be getting worse so i thought i better head for home.

It was a good afternoon, nice to meet the 914 posse! why isn't my Honda on any of the photos?

Highlight for me was Roger's 2.3 and Alam's 911 both made my ears bleed, cool!

I think Donno Park should become the ACE meet of the Midlands.

Hope Phil makes it back with no wipers

Thanks for the photos guys; thank you Rob for suggesting the meeting; thank you Steve and Christine for coffee and biscuits.

Shame about the rain - rather spoilt the journey home but my wipers managed to survive and my patent ceramic demister actually did its job!

Its a strange thing about the 914 get-togethers - never seem to get more than 13 in one place - but an excellent turnout today.


In answer to Lightweight 911 - I can help with some of the cars -

Taking Helen's 3rd picture, left to right : mid blue 914/6 - Mike Karavasili; Grey 914/6 with wide arches - Dave McKillip; Irish green 914/6 - Tom Loader; Gulf Blue 914/4 - Roger England; Silver 914/4 - Steve Screaton; Orange 914/4 Robster; after that - sorry don't know.

Top top day out, great to meet some new faces, and some familiar one's again, really enjoyable day chaps.

I agree Nige, Roger's car is a bit special isnt it, a definate highlight, and Alam's just looks hard as nails on the road.

Was a long slog back to london, but well worth the journey, although conditions were terrible on the M1 everything was going well, just cruising along, get into the '40' Zone and lose sight of Alam and Paul, come out of the zone and the phone rings, it's Paul "my car's making an awful racket and it stinks " a few hundred yds up the road pull onto the hard shoulder and find this...

A bloody good job it didnt happen on a faster stretch I say, changing the wheel in a river on the hard shoulder in pouring rain, no fun at all, it was a very damp 80/90 mile drive home after that. btw Paul deserves a medal for making that trip up from Kent and back in one day, well done that man .

Now I'm no expert, but I think there's something wrong with Paul's tyre?

Must be rare these days to see one off the rim? The museum looks good .

many thanks for taking the time to meet up. It was great to meet some old friends and see some new faces.

Having followed Dave M's 'new' 914-6 upto Donington, I was gutted to find I had revved the nuts off the Robster mobile to keep up, only to find that as he was running it in, he hadn't used more than 3000 RPM! I must find myself one of those 2.4 Litre 6 cylinder engine thingies. That car will be awesome when it is run in.

Highlights -
1) Great drive up to Donington (Thanks Middlefour!)
2) Great Turn out, and great to put some faces to names
3) Alam's 911 (How he hasn't got arrested yet for that exhaust, I'll never know - but it sounds awesome!)
4) The Donington Collection - I had a dream that my garage looked like that once..

Watch this space for the next 914 meeting......

Great to see all you guys, and to put names to faces. Dyno - I've got some earplugs for you! Strange really as it doesn't sound that loud to me. Not as loud as my old Spyder.
