914 ? - they don't really appeal in 'narrow body' form although I do like well-built 914/6 GT-style cars – but again, on the rare occasions that interesting cars surface, prices are outside of my budget ...

If a nice tweeked 914 is outside the Budget, then anything air cooled is, 964 included.
It will be Italian or French.
Under 2 litres too.

I'm talking about a 914/6 GT replica - using all of the period-correct parts (twin-plug engine, wheels, seats, etc) we're talking about prices of £75k upwards .....911hillclimber wrote:If a nice tweeked 914 is outside the Budget, then anything air cooled is, 964 included.

Which is where a good 964 C2 manual coupe is priced these days too.Lightweight_911 wrote:I'm talking about a 914/6 GT replica - using all of the period-correct parts (twin-plug engine, wheels, seats, etc) we're talking about prices of £75k upwards .....911hillclimber wrote:If a nice tweeked 914 is outside the Budget, then anything air cooled is, 964 included.
Still some very nice SCs and 3.2s around at sensible money, but I don’t see one of those holding your interest.

Re: Just collected my latest purchase ...
Andy prefers small, light nimble cars under 2 litres so I can't see it being any of the above suggestions
He has had so many cars that it will probably be something totally off the wall!

Re: Just collected my latest purchase ...
964 ? - this had originally been a strong contender – either a C2 that had already been modified along the lines of the RS or a car that I could upgrade myself. However, in the back of my mind, I felt that it was too modern for me – plus in recent years I've become even more biased towards smaller-engined cars …stretch wrote:964....?

Lotus something? Can’t see you liking the build quality of an esprit but maybe an Elan or Elise.
